Information You Enter
A name, phone number, or address entered in a search form is sent to the third-party provider that supplies its results. Our servers do not retain a copy of those searches. When you contact us, we receive the information in your message and use it only to respond.
Information Collected Automatically
Like most websites, the host creates routine logs that can include an IP address, browser type, pages visited, and timestamps. We review aggregate activity to maintain the service and understand which pages are useful. Basic analytics and, when used, advertising measurement may rely on cookies or similar tools.
How We Use It
We use this limited information to operate the site, address technical problems, measure traffic, and improve the reference material. We do not sell lists of visitors or create individual visitor profiles.
External Websites
Links lead to public offices, county and state portals, archive collections, and third-party search services. Those destinations control the information you submit on their sites under their own policies. That includes sponsored search results supplied by a separate company.
Who Can Process Data
Hosting and support providers may process server-log information for us. Analytics and advertising partners can receive the automatic data described above. We disclose information when valid legal process requires disclosure, and otherwise do not share it.
Data Safeguards
The site uses an encrypted connection, and logs are retained only for the operational purposes described here. Because the site has no user accounts, it does not keep a visitor password or account profile that could be exposed.
Visitors Under 18
This site is intended for adults, not children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from a person under 18. If you believe a minor provided us information, contact us so it can be removed.
Your Privacy Choices
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to request access to, correction of, or deletion of personal data a website retains. Since we keep very little, a request generally involves reviewing the contact mailbox and available server logs, then deleting what is found. Use the Contact page to make that request. Government-held records are outside our control: Massachusetts public-record access is governed by M.G.L. c.66 §10, M.G.L. c.4 §7(26), and 950 CMR 32. Central voter-registry information has separate treatment under M.G.L. c.51 §47C, and the Massachusetts Address Confidentiality Program is established by M.G.L. c.9A and 950 CMR 130. Requests about official records must go to the custodian that holds them.
